The relationship between spiritual intelligence and creativity in students of Medical Sciences, Kashan

Introduction:
Spiritual Intelligence is a type of adaptation and behaviour that assists a person in order to harmonize with the environment, health, improve performance, creativity and so. The present study analyzed the relationship between spiritual intelligence and creativity of the students of Kashan University of Medical Sciences.
Materials and methods:
This study was descriptive one. Target population included all students of Kashan University of Medical Sciences in the academic year 2013-14, among whom the total of 194 people were selected using stratified sampling method. Data collecting were standard spiritual intelligence questionnaire with 40 questions and a researcher-built 20-question creativity questionnaire with a 5- scale Likert. The reliability of tools was approved in terms of content. Reliability through Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the spiritual intelligence questionnaire and creativity were estimated 0.79 and 0.87, respectively. Data analysis was performed in an inferential level (Pearson correlation coefficient, t single sample, ANOVA, regression).
Results:
Results showed that the mean level of spiritual intelligence (0.37 ± 3.58) and creativity (0.42 ± 3.70) were higher than average (3). There is a significant positive relationship between spiritual intelligence and creativity (0.40 = r). The regression table showed that only spiritual excellence (sublimation) and problem-solving capacities, of all components of spiritual intelligence, enjoy the predictability of creativity of students.
Conclusion:
Based on the findings, higher spiritual intelligence is associated with more creativity. We can provide grounds conducive to nurture creativity in students through focusing on the growth of the spiritual intelligences and students can be creative and innovative in their role in order to progress their society. |
