English

Introduction:
Chronic kidney failure leads to multiple complications for individuals due to their health condition, disease, and its treatment. Spirituality and religious beliefs have been reported to play an important role in chronic patients, particularly hemodialysis patients. This study aims to evaluate the effect of spiritual care based on the Sound-Heart model on pain, fatigue, and life expectancy in hemodialysis patients.
Methods:
This research is a randomized clinical trial will be conducted on patients at the hemodialysis center of Motahari Hospital in Jahrom. After determining their number, the patients will be allocated to the study groups using block randomization with 17 blocks of 4, assigning them to the intervention and control groups using Random Allocation Software version 2. The intervention group will receive spiritual care based on the Sound-Heart model. Spiritual care sessions will be held six times for each patient, with two sessions per week on the days of hemodialysis. The primary outcomes of this study are pain and fatigue, while the secondary outcome is the life expectancy in hemodialysis patients, which will be measured before the intervention, immediately after, and one month after the intervention. Data will be collected using demographic information forms, the Numeric Pain Rating Scale, the Smets Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory, and the Schneider Hope Scale. The collected data will be analyzed using SPSS version 22 at a significance level of 0.05.
Discussion:
This study will assess the effect of spiritual care based on the Sound-Heart model on pain, fatigue, and life expectancy in hemodialysis patients. It will provide evidence for implementing spiritual care based on the Sound-Heart model, which may help reduce pain and fatigue and improve hope for life in hemodialysis patients.
