Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Education and Ethics in Nursing will enter the initial screening process if they comply with the journal's manuscript preparation guidelines and are consistent with the journal's aims and scope.
At the first stage, the manuscript is reviewed by the Editorial Board in terms of its relevance to the journal's aims and scope, initial scientific and technical quality, compliance with the authors' guidelines, and ethical requirements. The Editorial Board has the authority at this stage to return the manuscript for preliminary revisions, send it for peer review, or reject it if there are scientific, technical, or ethical grounds for rejection. The initial screening and decision on whether to send the manuscript for peer review will normally take a maximum of one week.
Manuscripts will be evaluated, as applicable to the type of study, for the presence and validity of an ethics approval code, clinical trial registration number in the IRCT system where applicable, and text similarity and plagiarism. If there is any ambiguity or discrepancy in the ethical or research information, the journal may request the necessary explanations or supporting documentation from the authors.
After initial approval by the Editorial Board, the manuscript will be sent to reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. The journal uses Double-Blind Peer Review, meaning that the identities of the authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other, as far as possible, throughout the peer review process.
Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two expert reviewers based on the journal's manuscript evaluation checklist. When necessary, the Editor or Editorial Board may seek additional reviewers to obtain a more thorough scientific evaluation.
Reviewers are selected from among professors, researchers, and faculty members with expertise in the subject area of the manuscript. Reviewers are required to evaluate manuscripts fairly, independently, and confidentially and to inform the Editor of any conflict of interest. Details regarding confidentiality, conflicts of interest, and reviewers' responsibilities shall be in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics principles.
The journal makes every effort to communicate the peer review decision to the authors as soon as possible. When revisions are requested, the author is required to submit the revised manuscript together with a response to reviewers within a maximum of two weeks after receiving the reviewers' comments.
The revised manuscript may, when necessary, be sent back to the reviewers for further evaluation. After receiving and reviewing the reviewers' comments, the Editor will make the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection of the manuscript based on the scientific quality of the manuscript, the extent to which the requested revisions have been addressed, the reviewers' comments, and compliance with scientific and ethical requirements.
Acceptance of a manuscript is subject to the Editor's final approval, and a positive recommendation from the reviewers alone does not constitute final acceptance of the manuscript.
After final approval of the manuscript, an acceptance letter will be sent to the authors. Following Persian and English language editing and final preparation, the manuscript will be considered for online publication.
