Introduction:
Reporting is a practical framework and an essential tool for providing and evaluating nursing care. The most important reporting procedures recommended in the treatment centers are traditional reporting methods, abnormalities, computer-based, standard and problem-oriented approaches. The overall objective of the study is "the impact of problem-oriented reporting on the characteristics of nursing reporting in Ahwaz Iran".
Material & Methods:
This study is a before-after quasi-experimental one (semi-experimental group), which was performed on nurses in public sectors of Golestan hospital in Ahwaz. 30 nurses were randomly selected from the statistical population and divided into two groups of before- and after-intervention. The workshop of problem-based reporting was conducted, as the intervention group. A check-list was used for data collecting. The data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics and Wilcoxon test, T-test and Chi square tests using SPSS version 21.
Results:
The findings of this study showed that there was a significant difference in nursing report scores between the two groups of before and after intervention using the Wilcoxon test. So that in all cases the problem-oriented approach ple has improves the quality of reporting in nursing.
Conclusion:
Based on the findings, problem-oriented reporting approach has a positive effect on the characteristics of the nursing report. Therefore, it is suggested that this method of reporting be used by nurses.
