Retinopathy of prematurity and blindness twins after training negligence after discharge Abstract Introduction: Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is considered as a complication of oxygen therapy that may be leading to blindness if the diagnosis and treatment. The aim of this study was to introduce the boy twins who were blinded in the field of retinopathy of prematurity and insufficient education to parents. Case Report: A young mother with a first pregnancy of twins and with complaints from rupture of membranes and high blood pressure referred to a birth center and delivered. Result of this vaginal birth was the two boys that were 28 weeks and due to preterm delivery, after ten days oxygen therapies were discharged. The mother two months after the birth, noticed the lack of response to light and after going to the doctor, diagnosed retinopathy of prematurity. Babies did not respond to treatment and both blinded. The twin’s mother knows causes his delays ignorance and negligence care team in education after discharge and lack of follow-up them. Conclusion: It is necessary to prevention the retinopathy of prematurity parent education about prematurity and its complications, as well as precise follow-up of premature infants after discharge.
