Abstract
Introduction: The learning environment in which clinical training is carried out is very important; because it prepares nursing students to present clinical principles in real environment. Following the epidemic of the Covid-19 virus in societies, one of the challenges facing the educational system in nursing schools was the training of interns and the transfer of appropriate clinical experiences to them in clinical education. The present study was conducted with the aim of explaining students' experiences of attending clinical learning environments during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Method and Materials: The current research is a conventional qualitative content analysis in which 11 undergraduate nursing students participated with purposive sampling. The present research was conducted in selected teaching hospitals of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences (2023). Data collection was done by semi-structured face-to-face interviews and its analysis was done by the method of Granheim and Lundman (2004).
Results: By analyzing the findings, four main categories of participating students' experiences were identified, which are: 1. Educational crisis management; 2. Development of professional insight in clinical education; 3. Environmental psychological effects on inclusive learning; 4. Defects in the clinical teaching-learning process.
Conclusion: Critical situations like Covid-19 require educational crisis management by nursing schools. It is recommended to pay attention to alternative educational solutions such as online simulation and other alternative strategies for providing online clinical education.
